Chris took his test for his LPN license and passed! Woo hoo! :) The test is up to 200 questions and it automatically shuts off if you are doing very well or very poorly. Chris only got the minimum of 85 questions and the screen went blank and he was told he was done. So, since Friday we've known that he either passed with flying colors or failed miserably. It's been cool. He said the test was weird and not what he expected and he wasn't sure what they wanted-so the results really could have gone either way.
Anyhow, we paid to get the pass or fail today. That doesn't mean that he has his license yet. We still have to wait for the State to tell us that they got the good news, then they have to issue him a license number. This could take anywhere from one to four weeks.
Personally, I hope they only take one week because Norco finally told Chris that this needs to be his last week working there.
For those who don't know, Chris told Norco of his plans to become a nurse practitioner. They tried really hard to change his mind and even offered him a promotion with a ginormus raise. He told them no.
Norco doesn't do part-time, but they did for Chris because he is that good and has been that needed. Now that several of Norco's big SLC clients have gone belly-up, things have been extrememly slow. Last year at this time they were screaming busy. Now, not so much. They've kept Chris on, and let him stay part-time.
Finally they told Ron (Chris's boss) that he needs to let 2 employees go aside from Chris because they already knew he was leaving. Marcus was told that last Friday was his last day, Ron told Chris that this was his last week, and I have no idea who mystery man number three is.
Anywho, so as of Friday Chris will officially be unemployed. He can't even apply for an LPN position until he has a license number at the very least. Cool huh? Yeah, I think so too. He is a CNA, but it would be stupid to go get a job as a CNA right before getting his LPN license.
"Hey, can I have that CNA position you really need to fill? I only need it for like one to four weeks then I'm hoping you'll give me that LPN job you got hangin around so you can start all over trying to find someone for this crappy job, is that cool?... You're cool with that right?.... Hello?.. Hello?... hmmm must be a bad line. I'll call back later."
Big changes are so fun. Hey, how come nobody else is doing this??? Hyuck hyuck!
It has been really nice to have Chris around the house more though. :)
